Strapped for cash
November 21, 2006
I hate having no money. What’s worse is that four months or so ago, I had money and it’s all since gone down the drain. I was ecstatic to have succeeded in my attempt to dive into my savings early. I had £600 odd to spend on whatever I liked. It all went sooner than expected of course, a good deal going into strengthening my Summer clothing collection, the pip of which was an £80 Hugo Boss top which I just couldn’t resist (no, I’m not gay) and the rest serving as spending money for my Summer vacation to Magaluf. With the bulk spent, it didn’t take very long for it all to vamoose. Now I find myself struggling to be able to find going out money each week.
One major plus is that very recently I was sent my national insurance number card thingy, which, in simple terms, means that I can now work. Because I want to stay in school, I’m not thinking anything full time quite yet but am intrigued by the prospect of a simple Saturday job. I’ve heard they’re offered in abundance, especially with Christmas nearing the horizon. If I get somewhere local, I might even be able to do time after school.
I won’t be off looking for a job however until Saturday, it being likely that if I do get something I won’t be asked to come in until the following week. As of now, my credit stands at £5.50. If going out with a friend at the weekend, I need £6 for the cab back home. All well and good. I still need extra though for a £2 pizza and some drink. Hopefully I might be able to cheek a fiver or two off my mother though I won’t be holding my breath. Then there’s always next Friday to consider though I guess I’ll be best off worrying about that when the time comes.
Can’t wait for the weekend to begin

Sunday, boring Sunday, day of recovery and all that. I hate it. It doesn’t feel like a day off. It feels like your weekend is over and all that lies ahead is the coming week, a week of gruelling work in which the only thing that will keep you going is the knowing that the next weekend isn’t far off. But right now it’s a mountain of time away wherein lies my distaste of Sunday.
Skint, Saturday was my day of recovery which I utilised by sharpening up my HTML skills and reliving my child hood days by watching Dragonball Z. For fans of the show, and that should go out to everyone, I’m up to the Android saga, taking place before the whole Cell affair. Lovely stuff. Of course, really I should be using the time to catch up on my coursework seeing as I’m majorly behind in both English and ICT. What can I say, I just couldn’t be bothered. Still, a 1st December deadline is looming in regard to ICT and I suppose I better get on it soon, what with not one but two GNVQ units to complete in the space of less than a fortnight.
